What Is CBD Hemp Extract?

By now, you have probably heard of hemp and many of its products on the market today. There are so many things you can do with hemp, the options are nearly endless. Right now, it can be made into more than 25,000 products. Thats incredible!

One of my personal favorites lately is CBD Hemp Extract. Hmm..but what is CBD Hemp Extract you ask? And how does it correlate with words such as CBD oil and Hemp Seed oil? Isn’t it all the same you might wonder? Not even close. So without any further delay, lets begin with the differences.

Hemp Extract and Hemp Seed oil vs. CBD Hemp Extract

The Cannabis Sativa plant has about 500 compounds, with about 100 of them being cannabinoids. This complex plant has two different categories. One of them being the Hemp plant, has no psychoactive effects. This is known as Industrial Hemp, which makes up most of the hemp products on the market today.

Majority of the products out today use either the plants oil or its extract. Even though they come from the same plant, they have different functions.

Hemp Extract is made from the seeds and body of the hemp plant. It contains many vitamins and minerals that support our bodies in many ways. It regulates tons of internal functions, however, it does not contain CBD. This is more of a dietary supplement and comes in many forms over the counter. You can find this at your local health store.

Hemp Seed Oil or Hemp Oil is made strictly by pressing the seeds of the hemp plant. This also has many vitamins and minerals and, just like hemp extract, is full of antioxidants. Hemp seeds do not have the CBD cannabinoid though, so it is mostly used as a super food for its nutritional value. A lot of people like to think of this being similar to olive or coconut oil. Some even use it as a salad dressing because of its earthy taste. You can now find it in your local supermarket or grocery store.

CBD Hemp Extract or CBD oil is made of mostly the leaves, stalks, and flowers of the cannabis plant. It comes from those plants bred to contain higher traces of our beloved CBD cannabinoid giving us all of its wonderful benefits. These are the kind of products you need if you are looking for a medical benefit.

Benefits of CBD Hemp Extract

CBD Hemp Extract has been around for years as a holistic remedy. Its only in recent years that scientists have been starting to discover some amazing benefits. So now that we have an idea of the differences, lets look at some benefits of CBD Hemp Extract.

We know that CBD oil gives a major boost to our immune system and really gives us an overall improvement in health. It has even shown signs of promoting recovery after exercise and relieving stress. But more specifically, studies are proving CBD oil to:

  • improve skin, hair, and nail health
  • reduce depression and anxiety
  • relieve chronic pain
  • help treat substance abuse
  • aid is reducing seizures
  • contain anti psychotic properties

So as we see, CBD oil can help alleviate all kinds of ailments ranging from minor to major. What more could we want?

Side Effects of CBD Hemp Extract

Some medications might interact with CBD oil so it is always best to speak with your health practitioner before usage to determine if it is best for you and your particular situation. You may or may not experience the following side effects depending on your sensitivity level and dosage taken.

  • dizziness
  • nausea
  • dry mouth
  • drowsiness
  • change in appetite or mood

A few studies have also shown potential changes in liver enzymes which may or may not be a sign of liver damage. With more trials being done it will be determined whether this is in direct correlation to dosage. Every person is different which is why it is important to consult your physician first.

Is it legal?

There was a time when Hemp products were illegal to sell or grow in the United States but laws have since changed. Being that it is not a psychoactive, a bill was passed recently which legalized industrial hemp. This bill, called the 2018 Farm Bill has allowed the possibility to not only cultivate and grow the hemp plant, but to harvest and study it as well.

We have learned so much about this amazing plant since then. Thankfully, we are now able to extract the CBD cannabinoid from the hemp plant and utilize it to our benefit.

Since the passing of the 2018 Farm Bill, the doors have slowly opened to more knowledge and less restrictive laws. We seem to be in a domino effect so to speak. The little hemp snowball will surely be an avalanche pretty soon.

Bottom Line

To put it simply, CBD Hemp Extract or CBD oil, is not a seed oil or super food. It contains high quantities of CBD giving you all the benefits, without the psychoactive attributes, in an oil form.

Do not be confused with Hemp Extract the dietary supplement or with the Hemp Seed oil which can be cooked with.

CBD Hemp Extract is the oil with medicinal properties. It has so many natural benefits and is now completely legal. As with anything we put into our bodies, we should always use caution and consult with a medical professional. It is possible to develop a small amount of side effects, but nothing you see with everyday prescriptions.

This, by far, is one of the easier ways to help improve your health. It can be a bit overwhelming because of the multitude of products flooding the markets right now, but the positive side to that is the room for creativity we have. You can have fun taking care of yourself in one of the most natural ways possible.
